HAPPY BIRTHDAY SETH!!!!

Tonight was a night of memories! Seth turned the big 3 and what a party we had! Of course, other than Corbin and Jenna, no one under 14 was allowed to come...hmmm maybe that's why it was fun :) Just kidding! Seth looked great! He was up and dressed and cruising around a conference room eating Hersey's Kisses. It was good to see. He was really REALLY excited to eat Pizza! And even more excited to see his Brother and Sister. Just after they arrived, he was ready to go back to his room for a rest and we wanted Corbin with him. I got a couple of pictures with them laying in Seth's bed. SO CUTE! Seth sure misses Corbin and Jenna and it was great for them to see him there!

I think Seth was a bit overwhelmed by the singing however. The amazing nurses came in to sing to him and he screamed! But he screamed when we sang to him later too...so don't take it personal nurses! We love the nurses! They were/are amazing with Seth!

Seth got some great toys to play with and what fun he had with a Nerf Ball gun! It was a little dangerous in there at times! Enjoy the pictures! Thanks for the love and prayers!

An evening with Seth..and getting ready to turn 3!

Last night I had the privilege of spending time with Seth. I can't begin to explain the joy this little guy can bring someone. He is amazing (and the nurses agree). Apparently earlier in the day Seth got sick and lost his stomach a few times. During which time he lost his feeding tube. So, with no feeding tube we had to endeavor actual food. Let me just say.....he was AWESOME. He wanted Cheese Ravioli and ate really well! He drank some milk and later ate some of an Ice Cream Cone. Hopefully he can keep eating and stay off the feeding tube.

He is receiving two types of Chemo this round. One is Ara-C and he has had that all along. One thing different this time is he is getting it continuous through and IV for 7 days. (today is day 4). The other one is Idarubicion (sp?) and he got that one for 3 days. They are monitoring his heart and as of last night he looked good. He is such a fighter and has a very determined attitude.

So...we have 3 more days of Chemo. I don't know what the plan is after that just yet, but they will be checking bone marrow at some point in the coming weeks and then the Doctors will determine what's next. I also wanted to let everyone know Seth has a birthday coming up on the 25 of March and will be turning 3. I thought it would be fun to take up some fun card/pictures to hang in his room so if you (or your children) would help that would be great! It is great to be able to "change his scenery" every now and again!

We love and appreciate your prayers and faith.

Decisions, more Chemo, and PIZZA!

Sometimes the job of updating the blog really isn't so great......today would be one of those days. First and foremost, prayers are vital and miracles happen, faith is the key. We are praying, we believe in miracles and are trying to keep up our faith during these very trying times. Also please remember I update to the best of my knowledge and may get something not quite right, but I do the best I can with keeping up on everything and try to give the most accurate information I can. It seems to be changing so fast right now I feel a need to update sometimes as soon as I hit "publish post". Thanks for your patience :)

Seth has received two rounds of Chemo since relapse. They have been unable to achieve remission with either dose. He has received injections of chemo directly into his spine and also through IV's. After yesterdays test results the Doctors told Darin and Shannon they would get back with them in a day or two with the next step. This evening they were presented with the option to go ahead with another round of Chemotherapy. Seth also had a feeding tube put in today to help build much needed strength he will need for this next round. And apparently from the picture we were sent tonight....there is always room for pizza! WAY TO GO SETH!!!
Obviously there is a lot riding on this round. It should be noted that the Doctors would not present this option of there wasn't any hope of possibility for it to work. So, we again ask for your faith and prayers.

Please pray for Seth, Darin, Shannon, Corbin and Jenna. Anyone who is able and willing to put Seth's name in the Temple would be much appreciated. We as a family are so grateful for the love, support and prayers. There have been many tender mercies shown to us during this time and we are ever grateful.

Test Results....

On Monday, Seth had a bone marrow aspirate to check progress. Today we got the results from those tests. Currently Seth has 38% myeloblasts...just prior to this round of Chemo he was at 44%. We are cautioned to not compare these two numbers as the tests were taken at different times during the treatment cycle. This is certainly not the news we were hoping for from these tests.

Darin and Shannon met with the Doctor and have been told they are networking with Doctors around the country to determine what the next best step is for SethMan. We can expect to hear in the next day or two. Of course I will update as soon as I hear. Lots of hugs and kisses going Seths way today; and of course prayers!
